ISIS was selected by Yorkshire Forward as a development partner to redevelop Tower Works in Holbeck Urban Village as a sustainable exemplar scheme using the ISIS sustainability charter to ensure excellence in urban design and environmental, social and economic sustainability. ISIS and Yorkshire Forward are in the process of finalising the Development Agreement with a view to submit a planning application for the scheme.
Tower works will be a fascinating, daring and distinct neighbourhood and a destination for the wider community who will be able to access jobs, housing, services, public open space and cultural facilities. The neighbourhood will become a learning destination as an exemplar of sustainable mixed use urban development and will open routes to the city. Tower Works will be a vibrant waterside neighbourhood offering 145,000 sq ft of offices with a mix of studios and smaller offices and corporate office spaces located on the western side and a range of 154 homes from studios to family units on the east. Retail/leisure uses including an artisan bakery and an organic micro brewery and bars and cafes are concentrated around the main public space including the Italianate Towers, canal side and green.
